The best men’s deodorant and antiperspirant 2018: stay dry and fresh throughout the day
11:55 AM0 Comments

Whether you're sweating it out at the gym or perspiring over that presentation at work, deodorant is your friend

As a teenage, a can of Lynx probably sufficed, but having successfully made the transition from boy to man, now comes a time where more thought needs to go into what you’re spritzing onto your armpits every day.

CHOOSING THE BEST MEN'S DEODORANT FOR YOU

The underarm area is actually pretty sensitive and just because one spray may be good for your friend, doesn’t mean it won’t potentially cause your pits to come out in a terribly itchy rash. If you’re prone to that kind of reaction, a deodorant specially formulated for sensitive skin may be the direction for you.
Some men are more prone to sweating than others; whether it’s because their sweat glands are always in hyper mode, they become hot easily or because they feel anxious under pressure. If that’s the case, make sure you purchase an antiperspirant deodorant, and there’s no shame in purchasing an extra strong one either, if those armpits are a real problem.
If scent is of the utmost importance, many of the designer brands also have a deodorant range. Often, they have the same scent as their popular aftershaves.
Our list features a range of the best men’s deodorants; expect a mix of products from designer brands, specific beauty brands and some that you may never have come across before but are known in the industry to meet a requirement – whether it’s sensitivity or excessive sweating.
If you’re stuck between choosing a roll-on or spray can, roll-ons deliver the active ingredients straight to the pit, and are a common application method for treatment to excessive sweating.
Spray cans aren’t as direct in their application, which is great for all-round area protection and for quickly freshening up before the big presentation at work. In the end, it all comes down to personal choice.

TODAY'S BEST DEALS       Buy From Amazon
American designer Tom Ford has created this fresh deodorant for that aftershave scent after every application- perfect if you’re conscious about the way you smell.
You should be able to distinguish a blend of citrus, floral and amber notes, which give it that fresh but masculine scent and if you love the scent that much, there’s a wider bath and body collection that you can dip into. For the pure luxury, we give this deodorant our number one spot.

2. L'OCCITANE EAU DES BAUX STICK DEODORANT

A bacteria battling deodorant with a mysterious woody scent

SPECIFICATIONS
Best for: Preventing bacteria
Type: Roll on
Alcohol free: Yes
Lasts: 24 hours

REASONS TO BUY

+A heady, woody scent
+Kind to skin
REASONS TO AVOID
-Won't prevent excessive sweating
TODAY'S BEST DEALS           Buy From Amazon
A strong alternative to our first pick, this deodorant from beauty brand L'occitane is recognised for its woody, aromatic scent, which according to reviewers, does a good job of masking pongy pits.
Aluminium, alcohol and paraben free, it’s kinder to skin than other deodorants, and should be considered if you’re worried about the effects of aluminium on your underarm area.

3. VICHY HOMME FOR SENSITIVE SKIN

A strong antiperspirant with a gentle touch for sensitive skin

SPECIFICATIONS
Best for: Sensitive skin
Type: Roll on
Alcohol free: Yes
Lasts: 48 hours

REASONS TO BUY

+Reduces sweating
+Soothes skin
REASONS TO AVOID
-Not very fragrant
TODAY'S BEST DEALS        Buy from amazon
If you’re looking to stop sweat, this Vichy antiperspirant should do a good job. Although it’s antiperspirant, it’s still kind to the pits, with the inclusion of oligo-zinc, which is known to soothe the skin from discomfort.
Another upside, no white marks means you won’t be reaching for a flannel to wipe the antiperspirant stain off of your clothes just before you head out the door. This product doesn’t have much of a fragrance, so if you’re looking to emit a fresh scent wherever you go, something more powerful may be on the cards.

4. DRICLOR SOLUTION ROLL ON APPLICATOR

This solution helps to stop excessive sweating

SPECIFICATIONS
Best for: Excessive perspiration
Type: Roll on
Alcohol free: No
Lasts: Days

REASONS TO BUY

+Prevents sweating
+Lasts for days
REASONS TO AVOID
-Can sting on application
TODAY'S BEST DEALS            Buy from amazon
If you’re sick and tired of soaking wet pits, this product could be the solution. Be warned – it means business – so don’t use it if your underarm skin is sensitive or broken otherwise it’ll sting like hell.
It takes 1-2 weeks to do it’s thing, then if you want, you can use intermittently with a regular deodorant or antiperspirant. If you’re tempted to over apply, don't. Reviewers report of armpits becoming sore if overused. And of course, this isn’t about smelling flowery, this is about preventing sweat.

5. CHANEL ALLURE HOMME SPORT DEODORANT

If you’re a fan of the fragrance, you’ll love this deodorant

SPECIFICATIONS
Best for: A fragrant spray
Type: Spray
Alcohol free: No
Lasts: 24 hours

REASONS TO BUY

+Apply as a freshen up
+Musky scent
REASONS TO AVOID
-Not antipersperent
TODAY'S BEST DEALS               Buy from amazon
We’ve had citrus, wood and now we have musk with this men’s deodorant from Chanel. If you’re a fan of the cologne, this could be a great alternative for everyday where, as it’s lighter and slightly less heady than a full dinner date-worthy spritz.
If you’re new to the scent, you can expect a hit of mandarin followed by woody cedar and heady musk – a scent that reviewers find masculine but not too overpowering. You can purchase it as a stick or a spray, depending on your preferred method of application.

Best Hair Dryer Revlon Perfect Heat RV544F Review
12:17 AM0 Comments

PROS / The Revlon Perfect Heat is the lightest hair dryer on our review.
CONS / It has a relatively short cord compared to other hair dryers that we tested.
VERDICT / With its two attachments, ionic ceramic heating technology and powerful motor, the Revlon Perfect Heat is a good hair dryer choice for all hair types.

Today's Deal                Buy From Amazon

Founded in the 1930s, Revlon is one of the most recognizable cosmetic and personal care companies in the world, so it is no wonder one of its hair dryers made our top 10 list. The Revlon RV544F Perfect Heat is super lightweight, has ionic ceramic heating technology to help reduce frizzy hair and comes with both a diffuser and a concentrator.
This was definitely the lightest hair dryer that we tested, weighing only 13.9 ounces. That lightweight design will make it comfortable to use, but our testers did report that the hair dryer was relatively loud and high-pitched compared to some others we reviewed. We confirmed the noise level of this hair dryer at 93 decibels, making it among the loudest in our tests.
We also measured its temperature range, from its lowest temperature of 81 degrees to its highest temperature of 147 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a wide enough rage to make this Revlon model decent for all hair types.
At 6 feet, the cord length is relatively short and did not give us as much flexibility as some of the other hair dryers we tested. If you'd like a longer cord, you might want to consider the Panasonic Nanoe. Our curly-haired testers said that Revlon's diffuser was not as effective or as quick drying as some of the other diffusers in our review, which partially accounts for the lower performance score. Our testers also said that the cool shot button was more straining on their fingers when pressed. This hair dryer houses a DC motor, which is what helps it be so light; however, DC motors generally don’t last as long as some of the AC motor hair dryers. The filter on this hair dryer swings on a hinge which we found made it simple to remove and reattach it for cleaning.
Revlon's customer service can be reached via email and telephone. Helen of Troy is the company that manufactures Revlon's hair dryers, so your hair dryer questions will be answered by Helen of Troy representatives. We communicated with Revlon and Helen of Troy several times and found their customer service to be quick, helpful and friendly.

Summary
With a sound level measuring at 93 decibels, Revlon Perfect Heat is not the quietest hair dryer on our review. However, it is the lightest. Our testing showed that the Revlon Perfect Heat's temperature range, 1,875 watts and medium air speed range make this ionic hair dryer a decent option for all hair types.

The best sunglasses 2018
5:51 AM0 Comments

The best sunglasses for all budgets this summer

Sunglasses are one of the best things about summer. The last few years, the trend has been massively towards mirror shades, but there are also still plenty of brown and black tinted options out there for those who prefer not to rock the "sadistic prison warden" look.
Not only do they protect your eyes from the harshness of the sun, they also give men a rare opportunity to buy an accessory, to go alongside your watch and, er, your laptop bag.
In short, get yourself a decent pair of sunglasses and your eyes will stay safe, you'll be able to see where you're going, and you'll look (more) like Steve McQueen (a bit).

HOW TO BUY THE BEST SUNGLASSES FOR YOU

With sunglasses from the high-end likes of Persol and Gucci, people's favourite Ray-Ban, and one fairly outrageous-but-cheap pair from John Lewis, it's fair to say there's something for every face here.
Prices vary from as little as £15 all the way up to £200+, with looks from techy to edgy, from cool to classic.
If you're serious about eye protection, look out for filtering of UV-A and UV-B rays. Most of the glasses in this list boast both. Just want to look like a rock star? Choose based on looks and price, bearing in mind that you WILL eventually sit on them or leave them in a bar.
If you require prescription lenses, you'll need Rx compatibility, which involves paying more, on average. Them's the breaks.

OUR PICK OF THE BEST SUNGLASSES TO BUY TODAY

1. RAY-BAN CLUBMASTER

American-meets-Euro chic

SPECIFICATIONS
Frame material: plastic
Lens: glass
UV protection: Yes

REASONS TO BUY           +   Classic design
                                                +Can be customised
REASONS TO AVOID               -     You might prefer Wayfarers

TODAY'S BEST DEALS         Buy From Amazon

Always the most under-rated of the Ray-Bans, Clubmaster is all about American-meets-Euro chic. Think The Talented Mr Ripley - but you don't have to be a sociopathic murderer to wear them! We hope!

The reason these ones look a tad odd is that we knocked them up using Ray-Ban Remix. This brilliant system lets you easily customise your own specs. Frame choices include Aviators, all the Wayfarer variants including folding, Clubmasters, obviously, and go all the way up to the more techy Lightray frames, as seen here. Mmm, blue on blue.

2. OLIVER GOLDSMITH LORD

Mr Caine would approve...

SPECIFICATIONS
Material: acetate
Lens: glass
UV protection: Yes

REASONS TO BUY            +Timeless style
REASONS TO AVOID           -       Expensive

TODAY'S BEST DEALS               Buy From Amazon

Oliver Goldsmith more or less made glasses fashionable by outfitting the likes of Peter Sellers in the them during the 1960s. This sunglasses style was the model worn by Michael Caine in the David Bailey shoot that led to that genuinely iconic image.
Look closely on this updated version and the lower rim of the frame is ever so subtly camouflaged on this version.

3. POLICE HIGHWAY ZERO 1

An iconic selection from Police

SPECIFICATIONS
Frame material: metal
UV protection: Yes
REASONS TO BUY           +   Iconic brand
                                                +Classic look
REASONS TO AVOID           -  Metal frames get hot&nbsp

TODAY'S BEST DEALS          Buy From Amazon

Police has dragged Dolce & Gabbana bad boy Enrico Furlan in for questioning, and in return for all charges being dropped, he's designed this for the quintessentially 80s/90s Italian Paninaro brand.
Although there's still a distinctly 1980s vibe to Highway Zero 1, from the name upwards, they are lot more elegant than many recent efforts from Police, which have tended to be about as subtle as being pepper-sprayed in the face.

So the styling is more classic, the branding is toned down, there's a choice of tints – although obviously, you want the mirrored ones – while, as Police would have it, "angular frames add definition and intrigue to the style".
Now officer, do your duty and take down our particulars.

4. OAKLEY LATCH

Never lose your sunglasses again!

SPECIFICATIONS
Frame material: plastic or metal
UV protection: Yes
REASONS TO BUY                  +   Latch to attach to clothes
                                                      +Three point fit
REASONS TO AVOID         -Will you actually use the latch

TODAY'S BEST DEALS         Buy From Amazon

This range of sunglasses is built for skateboarders, but fine for you, and has a very interesting USP: a clip that holds them securely in your shirt pocket when not on your face. So they won't fall off when you bend over to tie up your shoelaces.
They're also a great-looking batch of sunnies, with numerous frame and lens colour options. The one above (matte, grey ink frame with iridium lenses, since you ask) is perhaps our favourite.
Oakley's usual non-slip nose pads, precision optics and lightweight/tough build are all present and correct, as you'd expect.

5. PERSOL AVIATOR

A little expensive, but worth it

SPECIFICATIONS
Frame material: acetate
UV protection: Yes

REASONS TO BUY          +   Modern yet classic
                                               +Medium coloured lenses                                               +Heritage brand
TODAY'S BEST DEALS           Buy From Amazon

Ultra-retro, super-luxe, folding sunglasses for the man who would be Steve McQueen. These heavy, classic shades are polarised and offer 100% UV filtering. They also fold at the bridge and temple, so you can origami them away somewhere discreet when not required.
Offering elegance and sophistication by the tonne, Persol is one of those brands you just can't really go wrong with.
